German Tiger I Winter Version - The New Model Army

The Tiger 411, 4th [later 9th] Kompanie SS Panzer Division “Totenkopf”, Russia 1943. Tiger 411 is pictured in a whitewashed grey paint scheme, in February 1943 in the Kharkov region. The 4th Kompanie of the 3rd SS Panzer Division “Totenkopf” were troubleshooters, and during Operation Zitadelle in the summer of 1943 only lost one of it’s 15 Tigers to enemy fire; the crew managing to escape. This was not to last however, as the Kompanie lost all 30 of it’s initial issue of Tigers to enemy fire or through the crews sabotaging their tank to prevent capture.
